2019 has come and gone and 2020 is getting all of our attention!


Are you wanting to plan a trip but have no idea where you want to go? We get how confusing it can be, so that's why your friends at The Ladies Abroad are here to save the day!

Are you ready for our Top 5 Unique Places to Visit in 2020 list? Let's get to it!

1) The Dolomites, Italy

The Dolomites are home to some of the most spectacular landscapes in Europe! It's the perfect place to feel connected to nature, go hiking, cycling or simply relaxing and taking in the beauty around you.

2) Kyoto, Japan during sakura season

Tokyo seems to get a lot of the spotlight when it comes to Japan, but don't forget the other beautiful towns/cities such as Kyoto. Kyoto is only a bullet train away from Tokyo and is a place that will sweep you off your feet. Japan is an amazing country to visit all year round but it becomes magical during sakura season.

There is so much to see such as Fushimi inari Shine and the Gion district. Kyoto is a gem!

3) White Desert, Egypt

Cairo shouldn't be the only place you visit in Egypt. Unlike Cairo, White Desert is definitely a highlight. There is no catcalling or haggling. You're surrounded by nothing but nature, it's truly peaceful. Spend the day exploring different deserts and you can even choose to spend the night in the middle of the White Desert. How cool is that? You can even enjoy a local meal underneath the stars. Talk about dreamy!

4) Khiva, Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is a country to not overlook! If you're a history lover, Khiva will leave you speechless. A lot of tourists flock to Samarkand and Bukhara, but Khiva is a city that is truly satisfying. It's also an open-air museum!

5) Taranaki, New Zealand 

Have you ever heard of Taranaki? It's located on the West coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is famous for the active but quiescent stratovolcano, Mt Taranaki, that towers proudly over the entire region.

This destination is filled with beautiful black sand beaches. Taranaki is such an interesting destination that the sand beaches host fabulous surf breaks, meaning that in the winter, you can ski and surf on the same day!
